Paper efficient schools

Wasted Paper

I for one am annoyed by papers, they are hard to keep track of and easy to lose and ruin, but beside that point they are also causing us to cut down our forests. Schools and universities are large wasters of paper. I’m not going to say it’s wrong to print off a paper to hand in an essay, sometimes its necessary but the amount of papers us, as students receive every day from our teachers is too much. When you multiply that amount by all of the schools which do the same you can begin to understand how much paper that is, and the truth is, it isn’t necessary. Most students have access to a computer; digital versions of paperwork would be much friendlier to the environment and probably easier for teachers, just mass mail homework. Or projectors and overheads, if every student doesn’t have access to a computer there is still plenty of paper which the students will only ever look at in class why not just project it onto a wall? I believe with some student support most schools could cut their paper use down by at least a half, Not only would it be more environmentally friendly but also economically friendly for the school.

Im not sure if this should be a cause or just something students should keep in mind.

Used paper can be a resource

I feel the same way, the waste is everywhere, not just schools. We started Papergeist for this very reason. we make books from used office paper. Check it out, you might get some ideas! It has to have one blank side for it to be useful as a Papergiest book.

You're absolutely right though, digital would be better.
