Volunteering at Light the Night
It's that time of year, and again The Leuekmia & Lymphoma Society is looking for volunteers to help put on our annual Light the Night walk! Light the Night is a unique and special event that raises money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to go toward blood cancer research and patient support services. Not only does the event go to support cures for cancer, it is also held to celebrate and comemorate lives touched by cancer- any kind of cancer. Participants at the event carry illumniated balloons diuring the walk- red for supporters, white for survivors, and gold to be carried in memory of a loved one who has passed away. The visual of the glowing balloons in the dark is moving.
Volunteers are the backbone of the walk, helping to do everything from set-up to clean-up. Volunteers staff registration, fill balloons, hand out food, cheer on walkers and more! It's an event that is not only a pleasure to participate in, but an honor to volunteer at.
We are still looking for volunteers to help at the following walks: Anchorage, AK (September 5th), Seattle WA (September 20th), Tulalip WA (September 20th), and Tacoma WA (September 27th). For more information on what we have available or how you can be involved, call 888.345.4572 or email the volunteer coordinator at Beth.Rosapepe@lls.org.
Make a difference in the life of someone with cancer- volunteer!
