The Struggle for Education

There is a struggle here in Oklahoma for many women and mothers. Coming from a background of services to stay-at-home moms, I've seen too much of this to stay silent. The struggle? Education. Knowledge. Many moms think they have no other choice. They are stuck until their little ones are off to school.

They find little comfort in MLM's and network marketing companies that require inventories and pressure sales. Many are taken by scammers and even lose thousands of dollars to Internet "businesses." These women do not know about their choices. They are clueless as to what steps they need to take to start a real business that is all their own. They slip into "housewifery" and never learn the value of education. Thus, their children often miss this important value as well.

The National Council for Women's Business and Education (www.ncwbe.org) plans to help change all of this. We want women to know that they have a choice. They do not h ave to sell naughty toys or skin care products for other people. They can develop their own product or service and sell it for themselves. They can go on to complete a college degree. They can do more than be a housewife. They can love and nurture their children, while creating something meaningful and fulfiling for themselves.
