Katherine Commale of Pennsylvania has raised $43,000 to fight malaria.

We all know that Bellingham is chock full of do-right people and organizations.

At the Volunteer Center, we’re lucky enough to get to know many of them and how they benefit the community.

Here is an update to the article "Street Children Find Hope in El Shaddai", which is about Sylvestre Nzitukuze and his work helping orphans get off the streets and into a youth center.  Sylvestre just sent this photo of himself, when he was still in the Rwandan Armed Forces, before he asked for a discharge so he could work with the chidlren.

Thank you for all the personal messages and donations that have been arriving, as a result of the article STREET CHILDREN FIND HOPE AT EL SHADDAI.  Sylvestre and the children at the orphanage in Kigali thank you upfront and send much gratitude, as do I. 

Broadway Bound Children's Theatre Group in the Seattle area is an inspiration to us all. Children go through a transforming experience from never talking or presenting to a group and being shy to an empowered feeling of "I can do this!" in a professional quality musical where they boom out their parts. Wow!
