My Bio

I never know what to say in these profiles. If there's something you want to know, wouldn't it be easier to just ask me? You can....

I live in Seattle with my husband and our 9 year-old daughter. We have loads of family in town (I mostly grew up here, but also have deep roots in St. Louis, I consider them both home.) I am a total small-town farm girl who raises chickens and bees and has big veggie gardens. I am als a wide-eyed wild child who likes big parties and crazy costumes and make believe.
I believe that we can make the world what we want it to be. And that's why I started JUST CAUSE. It stared as a simple plot to save the world. It has quickly grown to include wonderful partners, friends and business opportunities - all of which serve that initial goal of saving the world.
I consider myself the luckiest person in the world. And I wish everyone felt that. My primary "causes" tend to be Arts and Education, but I can't resist talking about and tweaking any interesting problem..... Join me! I also host a business blog at the Seattle P-I called Start Her Up and am a co-founder of the Biz Chic blog called Pregnant With Startup.

Before getting the seemingly crazy idea to start JUST CAUSE IT, I never would have thought that I was someone who loved business. I mean, business? Aren’t business people those uptight men sitting in offices and doing, I dunno, boring business stuff?

Fit or Fat - Childhood Obesity in America

I desperately want to be one of those people who is truly accepting of everyone else. Someone who helps each and every one of us accept our inner beauty, celebrate our individuality and revel in our individual power for joy exactly as we are, without looking to media depictions of love and beauty for validation. I want to be that person.
