Anne-Marie McReynolds is the founder of Backyard Beacon, an online network whose purpose is to shed light on underreported stories -- particularly those in minority communties. McReynolds, who graduated from Stanford University in 2000, was an award-winning photojournalist at the San Jose Mercury News for five years and later pursued citizen journalism through her own syndicated blog through LexisNexis services.
