My Bio

In all honesty, I'm a bit shy about telling the world who I am.  The essential facts are that I'm a late 30-something, almost 40-something Seattle-ite who more than anything in the world cherishes her time with her family (most immediately -- her lovely partner, amazing step-kids, energetic golden retriever) and friends.  If we decide to move on to more secondary facets of my life, then I guess it's safe to say that in terms of my career, I am most excited when I get a chance to work with cool and interesting people on projects that are actually making a tangible difference in the world -- ergo Just Cause.  I like to think of myself as a twisted-MBA type -- the kind of business person that believes in the ability of enterprises to do good and do well at the same time.  I also like to think of myself as a connector -- someone who can help build bridges between the sometimes distant worlds of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.  Let's see.  What else?  I'm a big fan of social entrepreneurship.  I believe that every person has an interesting story to tell.  I love listening to NPR/PRI, and I'm a big supporter of all different kinds of progressive media.  I enjoy the end of a long run with my dog; not the beginning.  I want to be a good global citizen, and I try to educate myself on issues that exist outside of our typical American purview.  I want every kid to feel good about who they are, to feel special.  I try hard to be a thoughtful step-mom, partner, aunt, daughter, and friend.  Laughter is good, especially the raucous laughter of my kids.  Indie/foreign flicks are a favorite (my kids yawn).  I have no fashion sense, unless workout clothes are in fashion.  I'm addicted to M&Ms, but I'm in recovery at the moment.  I'm kind of in love with an island, and a cabin on said island, not to mention the eagles, the otters and the chickadees that all inhabit said island.

Enough said.  To close, here are just a few of the causes that I care about:::
