The San Jose Urban Journalism Workshop is an annual program sponsored by the San Jose Mercury News, San Jose chapter of the California Chicano News Media Association, the Castellano Family Foundation, Dow Jones Newspaper Fund, San Jose State University and other Bay Area media outlets and foundations. The two-week program is held on the San Jose State University campus, where students will work in the university’s newsroom and live in the campus dormitories. At the end of the two weeks, students will have learned the basics of reporting and writing under the guidance of professional Bay Area journalists.
